Podcast #56: Feeling Financially Behind in Your Twenties

Jess and Laura open this week’s episode with a pop culture update: they discuss everything from Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens’ recent cryptic High School Musical posts to their favorite Spiderman actors, to the new Bachelorette season and the difference between girl hot and guy hot.

Then, the pair dive into this week’s topic: the all-too-common feeling that you’re behind financially in your twenties. The two discuss what it means to compare yourself to others financially, and why everyone you see dining at expensive restaurants and living in boujie apartments probably aren’t as well-off as they seem.

Jess and Laura chat about their own experiences with feeling behind financially, and how they overcame it – and that it’s always a work in progress.
Feeling Financially Behind in your twenties

There are certain things that many of us feel like we *have* to have by a certain age (like a house, a fancy engagement ring, a robust retirement account, etc.) – but there are no rules! Awareness is the key to a happy financial life, and they provide concrete tips on how to become more aware of your own situation.

They end the episode with their adulting moments of the week, which include paying for parking and splurging on a new pair of AirPods during a sale.
