Galentine’s Day Quotes That Emphasize Why It’s the Most Fun Holiday

“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year.”

February 13 is quickly approaching, and we’re over here stocking up on both cheesy and funny Galentine’s Day quotes to share with our BFFs. Looking for the perfect friendship quotes to use for your Instagram caption to emphasize how great your girl squad is? We’ve got you covered.

But first, a history lesson. Galentine’s Day originated from one of our favorite TV shows ever: Parks and Recreation. The main character, Leslie Knope, is known for her over-the-top displays of affection towards her besties.

Case in point? The holiday she invented, which falls the day before Valentine’s Day each year. As Ms. Knope herself explains it, the day is an opportunity for “my lady friends and I leave [to] our husbands and boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”

Brunch with a side of female empowerment? Sign us up, like, immediately. And pass the hash browns.
